Niners Pledge

We keep Niner Nation Safe

As Niners, the health and safety of the UNC Charlotte community is our top priority. As the effects of this pandemic impact our friends, our families and our world, we must work together to protect the health and safety of every member of our campus community.

We have a shared responsibility to keep Niner Nation safe.
We will protect our health.
We will protect others.
We will protect our Niner community.

Every person is part of the larger “We” that makes up Niner Nation. We pledge to care for each other.

Being a member of Niner Nation means that each of us must take extraordinary steps to stay well and persistently protect each other, on campus and in the community. Acknowledging we will only be successful together, I pledge to take responsibility for my own health, to protect the health of other Niners, and to help keep Niner Nation safe from the spread of COVID-19 on and off campus.

To Protect My Health, I Will:

  • Watch my health for symptoms of COVID-19 and report to a medical professional if I experience a fever of 100.4 F (38 C) or higher or other symptoms of COVID-19, including, dry cough, difficulty breathing, gastrointestinal distress, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat or loss of taste or smell. I will stay home or in my room if I am sick, and I will follow the instructions of University health officials for COVID-19 testing protocols.

  • Wash my hands often with soap and water or use hand sanitizer

To Protect the Health of Other Niners, I Will:

  • Wear a cloth face covering, consistent with CDC guidelines, when I am around others

  • Wait 6 feet away from other people where instructed and where possible

To Protect Niner Nation, I Will:

  • Wipe common spaces I use including workstations, equipment and other high-touch surfaces with a sanitizing wipe

  • Wave to greet others or consider a pickaxe sign and follow all directional signage.
